Hey guys, just wanted to share some of t3d models I've made recently for my game project. Hope you'll like it :) P.S. Software used is z-brush for hard surface high poly modeling and substance painter for texturing. You can take a look at some more pictures here: https://www.artstation.com/artist/gonzamancg
Alright guys, literally haven't been on here in a few years but wanted to get back into some sculpting and character creation. So I'm making a high poly character, starting with the head in z-brush. (Beware - Massively Gears of War inspired maybe a bit too much) Still working on the face but Besides that, let me know what…
I'd like know some information on fair use, and what it consist of. What would count as fair use? Example is using a certain amount of second audio clip for learning and making a non-commercial animation allowed? Developing a environment in 3D From concept art, or a anime to better learn the field? Any information on this…
Hey quick question, I have some old models I would like to dust off and take into z-brush but there built in tris and not quads. Is there anyway to convert tris to quads? Im still searching on a way to do this properly but if anyone knows Id really appreciate it. Thanks a bunch and happy holidays!

This is the first step to a true next-gen pipeline for hardsurface (organic stuff has had it for years). Now some sort of smart, easy retopo tool would be next. I don't know much about the existing solutions for organics (like Z-remesher), but how well do they work for hard-surface ?
nostalgia! So good to see a thread like this. Hoping to see a lot of old polycounters post in here with their magic. I was really liking hand painted stuff then rnoaml maps came into the scene and ruined everything! here are some of mine from days gone by: and lastly some anime, non dragonball z
Mind doing a quick paintover in a scene of what you mean? I was thinking having a small sphere over your camera, set to additive, with a Z-Up Vector as your mask, set to be 'heaty' would be what you're looking for? But since you want it to be PP, I'm not sure if I there is an easy way.
Yep, W is the depth axis, like Z is to XY. Useful for 3D textures. Gets in the way sometimes if you're trying to Weld but your W distance is greater than your UV distance. I vaguely remember someone had a cool W trick for something or other. Sorry, maybe they'll repost...
All the normal maps look weird, have you inverted the green channel for them? Depending on the software you're using, you might have to do just that since for example in Maya, the Y axis is up and in UDK it's the Z axis instead. Other than that, it looks great. Awesome high poly work.
