Sure, I'll keep an eye out. There have been other max-to-modo threads (like this one) which you might find useful too. I'm not that familiar with max but edge/axis constraint sounds like action center's in modo. Or other more specific things like the edge slide tool.
Also, I can't let slide an opportunity to drop one tiny snarky comment for good measure : If photobashing was such a great design technique, then we would see more than just rag-wearing, assault rifle holding post apocalyptic robots soldiers made with it :) Sorry, I just had to :D
Looking at the cloth on the roof again, I think you should pull it up some more so it doesn't look like it's sliding off with a freeze frame. You can still have it draped and hanging off a bit, but if you pull it up some more it should look more static and stable.
I really like the first one; it's almost regal. Though I find myself wondering how it would look without the bit at the end of the barrel and have the design be mostly the grip and back of the slide. As for the other one it's not bad, but I see what you mean. Maybe dial back the saturation on the red?
There are just no specular affecting props at all, have to make better presentation. Also i'll suggest to change image sliding script, this one right now dont allow user to save something to PC without dirty tricks. Also sign your images, so person that downloaded it will know, who they belong to
If you're going the squares-route, just ask for some vinyl-scraps and hope they have your colours. It'll be a lot of work, but it'll be cheap. If you spray the area down with soapy water, you can positions the vinyl where you want (you can slide it around) and then dry it, and it's a piece of cake.
Inside of polyboost (graphite tools in 3dsmax 2010) there is a Swiftloop function lets you place a loop wherever you click. It was inside the polydraw tools in polyboost, not sure where it is now in 2010. If I remember correctly it lets you slide it into place before you release. I haven't used it in a while tho...

The 2-sided material option will show to any faces that have the material applied. So if your face mesh has "Head" material applied and the hair planes have "Hair" material applied, and only "Hair" has 2-sided checked, then only the polys with the "Hair" material will be rendered 2-sided. The rest will default to 1-sided,…
hey guys Got a question about overlapping uv's. I have seen lots of people that texture out just one side of there models and just overlap the otherside. In the picture I only have one side of the grill layed out as you can see on the normalmap. On side A i just have all the normals facing out. On side B i flipped the…
