Here is a more recently made character. 8) The character is 9322 tris with 2048*2048 diffuse/specular/normal maps. The machete is 748 tris with 512*512 diffuse/specular/normal maps Used; ZBrush, Topogun, Maya, Xnormal and Marmoset.
Regarding materials I now have a shader with colorizable rimlight, fake sss and hopefully other fancy things soon. Will post it later if anyone interested. Here with 512*512 maps two default lights and one Roboblitz skylight. Wooo.
about 500 polys and a 512 by 512 for now unless programmer tells me to scale it "the lids aren't THAT big of a deal for what you are doing." indeed it isnt,its for a police program, but i think ill do it either which way.
Is your document resolution in the Document Settings set to 4k or 512? If you are just exporting at 4k but your doc resolution is set to 512, there is a bug in the current Painter build that upscales the texture instead of adding details, you need to set your doc to 4k before exporting.
Good Evening, Does anyone have any good workflows or recommendations for creating a repeating/tiled texture that repeats only a portion of the texture map? So instead of using an entire 512*512 to repeat a texture, you can be able to tile just a portion of it, leaving the rest of the map open for texture sharing?

I could get a couple of sticks of 512mb PC3200 ram pretty cheap. Would I be better off upgrading to 1 gig of PC3200 ram (possibly higher quality/matched pairs) or adding another gig of PC2100 ram to get a gig and a half of slightly slower ram? If I should go with PC3200 ram, would I be better of getting a single 1gig…
Well well its done whoo!:) Pics from Toolbag so it will look a bit different in game tho. The tris count ended up to 11813. The texture is 1k x 1k for the head and 2k x 2k for the body and 512 x 512 for chain around his neck.
Thanks ;) the texture is pretty big for this one 1024 x 1024, I think as a test it's ok what would you recommend doing it at? 512 x 512? 891 tris, pretty sure I could get it down a bit especially on those thorns.
