What is your goal? Each type of modelling can get pretty complex, whether it is characters, vehicles, weapons, etc. If something like weapons are your jam, find some cool concepts to model, or model from the real thing. Find some concept art or pictures of a real life object and model away. -

Your materials don't seem to make much sense, the bulk of the gun looks like raw untreated metal when all weapons have parkerized or otherwise treated metal (especially modern ones). Get some reference and study materials you'd use on a weapon, don't just dDo it mindlessly and call it a day. -

For that particular weapon, I would go with something much cleaner. The look I'd be going for on the front would be similar to this, right below the words "weapon system". I meant what do you want to do career-wise, would you rather do just character design, just weapon design, or character modeling or weapon modeling..or something else? Sorry that wasn't really clear in my question. haha I want to do creature/character modeling and animation. :) -

I like the idea how the hand seems to slot in to the weapon, but the weapons shape overall looks boring. The robot itself is looking good. Is the Robot having some balance issues? looks like it's leaning a bit backwards. how strictly are you following the concept art? Could we see that also?
