I have the education download of 3ds max. If I port my model to Unity and try to sell it on the Unity Store I would have to buy the license right? I could ask the same about unreal engine 2.5 -> 3.0, did it really warrant a new engine? I mean, people often mistake bioshock for an unreal engine 3 title. When we do see unreal engine 4, we will see what it will be all about. -

Good writeup, EQ. Only thing I would add is that there is a bit more to cages (search envelopes, etc) that gives you greater control - they can change the angle at which you are projecting your bake. You mentioned this briefly, but I think it's important enough to warrant it's own explanation. -

In no particular order: 1. Do more actual drawing with real pencils. 2. Complete enough personal artwork to warrant publishing a book. 3. Learn about layout for said book. 4. Get at least one sculpt 3d printed. 5. Learn to make my own pasta. -

That's a good tip Ben, about the printing. I've considered it, but don't think I have photographs that warrant printing yet. Well maybe one or two, but my favorite wasn't even taken with my dslr yet, which makes me wanna hold back a bit on printing it haha. -
