I'm also having this problem now, I have perfectly symmetrical meshes and mudbox just refuses to let me set the topological axis for tangent mode brush sculpting. No triangles either. I'm also having a problem where after a couple of sub-divides in mudbox, faces in certain areas go crazy and snap to the pivot.
So here I am, a long-time member of Polycount but a guy who almost never posts ever. In that past, that was mostly about being intimidated by all the excellent work from people that gets shown here and thinking to myself that I wasn't ready to "play the game" at that level and not wanting to be embarrassed or feel…
PLEASE CRIT WHEN CONVENIENT. :) So here I am, a long-time member of Polycount but a guy who almost never posts ever. In that past, that was mostly about being intimidated by all the excellent work from people that gets shown here and thinking to myself that I wasn't ready to "play the game" at that level and not wanting to…
It's a program which talks about scientific principles in laymans terms, focussing on the ones that might prove pivotal for a US president to know about. It doesn't go into great detail at any point, but it was a great watch for me. Layman's explanations by specialists, smothered in nice visuals and sound design. For those…
Im trying animate folding paper (in max) but when I have auto key on I can only use the centre of selection's pivot not edge, vertex etc. snaps.. I thought this project would be easy but so many things about it are doing my head in! Anyone know why it won't let me or know of a work around? Cheers!
People usually refer to that shoulder joint as the clavicle, since it is the main shoulder bone that acts like a pivot and is responsible for keeping the scapula in place. I don't have time to read over your method but there are loads of tutorials on "auto clavicle". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gulC7YrYQeU…
Depending on which issue you are having with improper child movement, you may either be moving all of the sub components of the parent (which doesn't technically move the location of the object, as the pivot point remains in the same spot) or you are moving both the parent and the child simultaneously, which causes a…
You are so far ahead of where you should be Jess, I have worked with seasoned / experienced / veterans who cant do the things you do. Loving this, cant wait to see the final scene its going to biblical!! (Though to be fair, they did know that you could set pivot to local :P!!!)
I think sticking to the grid is a must when building modular stuff. You really want to keep to the grid on for the larger parts that define the structure and then you can disable the grid for the smaller items like windows etc. Keeping to the grid will enable easy snapping of the modular parts and save time messing about…
Option: Modeled in lightwave in sub-patches and rendered in max. PM me your email address and ill send you the .lwo if you're interested in seeing the mesh. Sectaurs: If i wanted to make the gun any bigger it really messes up the balance, and i dont want to redo the way it pivots on the back like that.
