So it's University Application season down under, and I thought I'd just ask for some advice before submitting my preferences. Reading through the material on this forum, the general consensus seems to be not to go to a University for an "Animation" or "Game Design" course, and instead hone and develop your skills through…
It should be stay black when black areas are going on top of each other, and it should be a lot darker where almost black areas going. Also, I'd disable sRGB on this. Could you show how your cloud filter texture looks? I know its sowed on your images, but its hard to see on the combines sample. I used the same technique…
I'm working with multiple layers on a reptile creature. currently I laid down a base layer of scales, on it's own layer. Then I created a seperate layer with some variation. As soon as I stop recording that new layer, the previous layer becomes "empty" and all I see is the current layer. If you hover over the layer on the…

Hi it's been some time but here is what I have done from my last progress and reading week . With some great tutorials shared by Niel , i went on to sculpt some of my sets and textured them. I've responded - because I choose to believe the OP is asking in good faith. I'll add some extra notes as well. Where I work we are expressly forbidden from using generative AI for any shippable content - this decision was made at the topmost level of management (nobody is arguing with that). This is certainly in part due…
Haven't read all of that, but will say here that some if not most of the programs offer options to transfer uvs from meshes that are the same. You can also use instances, but i think that transferring is a bit better.
Ok, so in my learning quest to figure out whats going on in UT3 (and how to create it myself) I've come upon another question. I can create models, I can create other maps/textures, I can import those things into the engine to create static meshes using materials. I'm still learning a lot on modeling and texturing and…
this is either a colorspace issue - make sure you're outputting raw from painter and importing linear to blender (i don't know what blender calls it) a tangent basis issue - make sure your model has the same tangent data and triangulation for both the bake and the render meshes. if you're using fbx there's a tickybox for…
