http://www.jessicahische.is/obsessedwiththeinternet/andhelpingyougetpaid/the-dark-art-of-pricing long read, but a good one. I don't really like that he didn't give an estimate himself, but considering he's coming from a TV background where advertising money flows in and shows generally have a set budget, you should make…
Huh? Where is the "low poly character wip"? Its no longer low poly when you put a mesh smooth modifier on it. Low poly still means sub 1000 triangles last time i checked. Its a good start for a cartoony hires model, but its for sure not a low poly.
Yea IK or Ribbon-IK ,they're pretty much the same. you say tomato i say tomato but really, same-same =) The key difference is in process and how you build the control rig that drives the final skeleton. Each way will cause you to design and build your rig in specific ways, which will help and hurt you in slightly different…

This is the concept I sketched and have been working to something similar to it: I am trying to go for the same style. I started with a more…
Hi! I want to try this for a while now, creating a stylized 3D character of my favorite anime character. So this is it, a Snow Miku 2015 entry designed by Imuko-san on Piapro (http://piapro.jp/Chuko3939) and this is my progress so far, blocking out the body and dress shape with 7.5 heads scale proportion. the hair is still…
Im having trouble with getting my floating geometry to show up during the bake...Just wondering if I was missing something. I tried using the cage as well and setting it to cover my floating geos but no luck. Tried not using the cage and increasing offset as well. I think what i'm missing is the bias setting somewhere.…
Sorry for the thread res, but I hate not thanking people for their responses. Thanks Warheart, I'll give that a shot. I have 16GB of Ram, but it's still slowing down. The task manager doesn't show we're running out of memory, it's just a performance issue. What you say will probably work. First time doing this sort of…
