This is my first progress screen. ~6000 tris. This i work for my future gameart portfolio. Do you think 6000 tris is to heavy for at next-gen game prop? (xbox 360, ps3) Is 2048*2048 textures a bit to much?

Textures are incredibly muddy and the models are primitive. I would recommend racer445's texturing tutorial on next gen hard surface and some modeling tutorials from Eat3d.com
You have all the bullets UV'd individually?? - The 35k would be ok for a next gen weapon in my opinion. It really shouldn't be a problem, except if you have limits.
