Hi everyone, My name is Eva and while I've been lurking on Polycount for a couple of weeks or so, I decided to start keeping a sketchbook to keep track of my progress. I focus on 2D character concepts and 3D modeling so expect a bit of both! Feedback and critiques are very welcome!
Hello Polycount! I have mostly been a 2d artist but about 3 months ago I started sculpting in Zbrush and I'm hooked! I'd like to improve my skills and would love to get feedback as I progress. Here's something I've been working on recently: a Gold Sphinx.
Hi everyone, I'm new to Polycount, and I just wanted to post some of my work here. I don't know where to post on here so I just made a new topic if that's alright. Anyone can post on this I don't mind. Mainly looking for C&C
It's about this time when I like to ask you, the Polycount cognoscienti, for your opinion on my portfolio. I've just about got the style & the layout sorted, and I'm working on expanding the content in the 2D section. C&C's please! Click here to begin bashing my site (in a constructive way, of course)!
Hey, I have not posted in awhile, but I thought Polycounters would maybe find this interesting! Here is a breakdown of how I'm making the art assets in my game -- I think it's a pretty novel approach: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bez-9AnW3kI
Today I did some facial studies and I also did a walrus in Zbrush. Worth noting is that I will not be home tomorrow so there will be no update tomorrow. Instead I will do a double update on Wednesday. Until then have a great time Polycount. Day 24: Zbrush: 2D Studies:
To me, this just feels out of place. What would the point of a polycount-hosted 2d character contest be, when there are forums like conceptart.org with a very active community? Would it be so you're 'a big fish in a small pond', rather than competing with people who are great at concept art?
@alinabeska THank you for your kind words :D trying to get better always hehe. It's been a while people of polycount! Been a wild ride learning 3D stuff, but came back to drop some 2D wips Ive been working on.. (Middle one is a fan art)
Alright, So these are the artists that I know that definitely have a 2D background. http://hazardousarts.deviantart.com/gallery/ I've seen Hazardous' stuff on polycount a couple times. He's talked about how 2D has benefited him in the past, and tells of how he actually re-approached 2D in order to approve his 3D works,…
Oh no! It's been a year and ten days since this thread was started. And a long while since it's been updated. Busy, busy. Anyway, some stuff that everybody has seen by now: Two (rather disappointing) entries for the Polycount Pack contest. Soldier Heavy And some 2D studies of busts by Bernini:
