Hey guys, I got a little problem with my AO baking. I try to bake this barrel, but i get a huge shadow on my AO. I currently try to use mental ray to bake it. When i add a skylight i get rid of this shadow, although i lose all my details from the high poly mesh. Can someone help me? I have attached screenshots from max.
So I just got hired on at BioWare (Edmonton, Alberta). Super excited to move to a new city and finally get out of my 'rents house :D Granted it's only a QA position, I still think it's a good foot in the door to hopefully transition into the Art team from there. As well, I'm still working at Liquid Development getting some…
precisely the sort of thing I wish would come up at work. I really want to understand more about this sort of thing but there's no way im putting my head through that sort of pounding without getting paid for it.
Pretty neat looking update i like it, if you did not see it i think the Admin on the forums posted something about record lighting the "correct way", atm no link. Using the babylon engine or something. When you get to the record texturing part. Can't link it if it is in the wiki i get a warning potentially unsafe again.…
"The man likes to play chess; let's get him some rocks. " it may be a hard one by that, but ive watched this movie 9 times or more. cant get tired of it. I might post an image in a bit.
Thank you Ghostscape! This is the info I was looking for. Cheers! Thanks to Rick Stirling as well. Mr. Vig: The question actually raises more then it attempts to answer... What type of game? Portfolio piece, but shooting for a 'cinematic quality' gears-esque look. What type of engine? Unreal3 How close does the player get…
It looks like there might be a bug with the setKeyframe() method. When I run the following code line-by-line from the interactive console: new_grp = mset.groupObjects([mset.findObject('Main Camera')])
new_grp.setKeyframe('linear')
mset.getTimeline().setTime(2)
new_grp.position = [0,10,0]
new_grp.setKeyframe('linear') I get…
I created a geth inspired desk lamp, which was a really fun project to work on (not only because I'm a Mass Effect fan). I used it to test and practice some new techniques and upgrade my workflow. I entirely skipped the creation of a high-poly and attempted to make the form look as good as possible with acceptable mesh…
Hello everyone! I am just wondering if i can get some input on whether this will work before i put a very long time into building it. I currently have a mesh, and this mesh will use morph targets to distort it in some cases and make it bigger in others. It will also have wings and other things attached to it through the…
Hey slosh, yea i know what you mean, i think i get too caught up in hand painting textures and not enough time looking at reference. I think for my next personal work I'll try something more hyper realistic, maybe photosource more stuff. The pbr stuff in marmo 2 seems pretty crazy, some of the results people have been…
