Hey ho fellas! My name is VIKA, a 2D Artist/Concept artist with animation background by day and a closet fromsoft/tolkien appreciater at night mostly known under artist name ZIPAVIKA and got here to polycount through a friend (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵) and hope this will become my next cozy place for 3D learning and some 2D stuff…
Oh man, I greatly hope that you extend your terrific program to have a UE3/3ds Max type of TBC. Having to export stuff from Zbrush at 3% of my highres polycount just so I can bake a normal map that I can use in UE3 sucks :(
Yes you should ask. But I think you'll find in 3D communities (including Polycount) half the people can't even be bothered to credit the original artist, much less ask permission. So if you want to be a douche about it most people here probably aren't going to bat an eye.
We all started this way...welcome to the wonderful world of 3D. There's a lot to learn and it will take a long time even if you are fully dedicated...don't worry about that. The one thing I will suggest is to learn topology flow early on...it will save you headaches later on. The Polycount wiki offers a look at that.…
I'd snag a copy of Mudbox, where you can directly bake the high poly onto the low-poly mesh within the program - it can handle way higher polycounts than 3DS Max. Otherwise, I've run into the same problems with Max and I have no clue how to help you.
Hey, polycount! My first post here! I'd like you to meet Shredder, my graduation project in XYZ School's character art class, STYL More shots of PBR version: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/lxxJEz And sketchfab with handpaint : https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/shredder-0a25f607c39f452694653c98d8ad20ac Enjoy and stay safe!
Hey everyone I want to use this thread to show my progress of my little diorama I'm going to make. In the image below you can see the concept I'm going to make in 3D. I'm making this for a mobile device so I'm going to keep the polycount as low as possible. Stay tuned!
Hey polycount. Is it time for another comp character art comp yet? I would like to suggest 2k tri and 1024 texture limits. Diffuse / Spec. If anyone else has other preferred guidelines lets collaborate. Also if there is a spot on the forum for this kind of stuff, let me know. :)
Hello Polycount I'm a Game Art & 3D Animation student for four months now and this is my first showable result. Please let me know what you think. The Concept, model and the texture maps are from me. I used Maya13, photoshop and crazybump! The sword has 368 tris.
Hey Polycount community! My goal with this sketchbook is to learn and improve my artwork as much as possible. If during the process I can help a few people out along the way, that would be great. I accept critiques from any and all! Please, any tips and advice will be put to good use.
