Hey everyone, 3 weeks ago i started to learn anatomy doing 2 weeks for torsos, 2 weeks for arms, 2 weeks for legs and then start with the head. So after 3 weeks i have made a lot of sculpts that i've not posted here, getting better but i really need some feedback. Today i sculpted 1 torso with 1 arm in a relax pose and…
Working on a Environment project for portfolio. I'm focusing on the bigger props for now and trying to figure out a good layout / composition for the scene. Most of the shader don't have any complexity, but I will improve some of them later. I've choosen a warm palette with brown tones mostly, because I want it to feel a…
I'm making a low-poly character for a game that is less than 1000 tri-polygons. The character will have low-poly hands. How did games back in the late 90s like UT99 or Quake 3 do hand animations? Blend shapes? The character is going to use a gripping pose when holding weapons and open/relaxed when not holding a weapon. Do…
http://www.silo3d.com/forum/showthread.php?p=65281 This is superb. I did some unwrapping yesterday and it's easily the nicest unwrapping I've ever used. Yes, it still needs work, but the ability to lock verts and then soft pull the rest of the map around is great. The brush tools work in the unwrap window so you can…
I was having as bit of fun using this and it works ok on the whole. I discovered today that you can paint symmetrically by turn on mirror in the painter options. Works fine for most of the brushes ie the ones I use most like push/pull and Relax/Soften but it does n't work so well on Pinch/Spread or smudge On the latter ,…
http://www.thatcloudgame.com/ Just played this game and I figure it needs a bit of recognition from polycount. Those of you who are interested in game design will find this game particularly interesting. It was created by some kids at USC, apparently funded by EA. This is probably one of the most relaxing little games I've…
I've got this issue in 3ds Max where I'm unwrapping an object and when I use the flatten mapping command in the UVW Unwrap modifier, the result is UV faces that are squished by approximately 2x the correct proportions. Even using the relax command won't set the UVs to correct proportions. To add to my dilemma, for some…
- BAKING! Love it. Not so much cooking... I hope to take a baking class sometime soon :) - Knitting! It's relaxing while watching TV. But I need to get better. I have WAY too many scarves and nothing else. - Getting back to traditional art mediums (once in a while). Currently finishing up an acrylic painting :D - Other of…
The UVs aren't overlapping. It's four noised spheres with separate opacity maps and a cylinderical unwrap for the high poly and a planar/break edges/relax for the low poly. My issue is that when it does a raycast to get the bake colour at that point it returns the surface colour of the high poly rather than sampling all…
great stuff, some thoughts from a noob: raise the pubic point a touch up (so the butt is lower than the pubis), relax out the shoulder blades a lil if u raise the hip at the rear, the glut med will giv her nice plane for the butt. which merges into the glut max. and you know elfs need dat ass. keep it up i wana see some…
