Can you guys point me to some tips and tricks to bend photoshop to your will when you bring in your UV render? Just some things to really streamline the process, like masking tips/techniques, layer management etc etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In short: -bake object space normals to lowpoly in Max/Maya/Blender/etc -convert to tangent space normals in Handplane -throw in Unity/UDK/etc right? For $50, that's not a bad deal for removing a lot of headaches.
Hey there, big update. Still looking to add some props and stuff. Changed the lighting, closest mountain, added small sand bench area, etc. Any prop recommendations, lighting etc. would be great!
Cool , that looks really nice with that budget :) ! Wish you'd push the lighting a little bit more in the forge-type area (some emissive lights on walls and floors etc etc) but really really nice work :)
This looks awesome. More color variation in the mechs would be cool. When you get to the faction logos, etc. take a look at the weapons from Brink. They have a cool level of personalization with paint/decals/etc
Taxes are between 1/3d and 1/4th of your gross income over here, by the way. Again, depending on various factors (how clever your prospective tax advisor is, marital status, etc etc).

That's pretty much it. We had to think up how it'd work as a game, be it a 3d action game, or a 2d platformer, etc etc. But past that it was a fairly free form assignment. Either way, thanks for the feedback!

Uncharted 2 is perfect?! I see stretching, inconsistent pixel densities, the shading on the brick wall and the modeled bricks is different (and looks bad in places). Etc, etc. It does look really good, but nothing is perfect.
