Also I forgot to mention I am using particle effects bought from Unreal Engine marketplace. Specifically I'm using VFX weather pack by Thomas Harle. I don't have much experience with particles but I did make the sparks and puffs of smoke in my scene. -

Often times a pipeline basemesh will be supplied that already has final topo. So it depends, as Monster mentioned, if you're doing the sculpting. And UV unwrapping is also required. As for texturing, some workflows are even following VFX in that some details that would have been in the sculpt are now done at the texturing… -

I agree, I won't compare both but yeah... in vfx there's heeeeell lot of stuff to learn... lighting / rendering setups, complex shaders, compositing nodes... etcetc.... I guess it just depends on how good you are at what you do, no need to compare one to the other, not in that manner at least... -

Well, here in the States, it seems to me you can't run a "successful" business if you can't outsource your workers. Almost like ILM moving their VFX work to Singapore, yet it's still expensive to live out there. (From what I hear anyway, from an old teacher of mine.) -

does override_vpk work in custom matches on Reborn?
Hi everyone, Does override_vpk still work the same way it did before Reborn for custom matches? I am trying to set up an env to test custom vfx on abilities and can't seem to get any of the changes I make in /content or /game to show up at all using -override_vpk Thanks, Jeremy -

Thanks Alex, the plan is to eventually have a more dynamic render/background :) Glad you like the helmet Deathstick! I'd love to get some vfx to show how the dual visors would actually work, perhaps soon. Yeah I was going for more of a suit feel rather than attached armour pieces, but I get what you mean. -

The lighting is much better now, nice work :) all the shadows go in realistic directions, etc. The highlighting of the hanging cables, and their shadow, is nice.
