worked some more on my fn fal G1, it's going slowly as it's got a nice amount of details, it's a great practice tho after some months of not modelling! again, c&c appreciated.
Duck, I'll admit I didn't like your characters much at first, but the more I looked at them the more I loved the amount of personality each of them had. This one looks as great as the others, awesome work dude :)!
I think that highly depends. To be honest no one would be paying that much attention to front wheels as they would to the body if the tractor, which has an appropriate amount of geo. If it was necessary to cut that down it's fine especially after he gets a diffuse on it.
alright guys, here it is with 1x1024 rgba and 1x1024 normal map. a bunch of instances of the same object and 4 materials. and the maps, if you want to decipher it. also, how much is an acceptable amount of instructions for an environment texture like this? mine are sitting at 49 instructions each.
yeah there's some kind of fucking psychos who take it way too seriously. There's a chance they were australian actually, a considerable amount of the aus fanbase is into "tactical nights" and stuff we have wars with new zealand ;) edit: and heres that bow with AO and colour sloshed on
ah ten days in london, very relaxing, was nice meeting some polycount guys there, even if it was only for a very short amount of time, gave me the inspiration to go back to airborn so here is a very quick blockout for the next airborn character Garrido, the grumpy lighthousekeeper
Dado : Yea, thanks on that, made the contrast change and dropped a smooth on the glass. I still have a decent amount to do, but I'll get it finished. I've noticed that white is a particularly difficult color to deal with on such LP stuff. i do have a couple of light opacity colors in there to help, but it doesn't show up…
=D Yeah these things are killer to me, some may say you wont spot them, but they break the HP feel and cause aliasing(as you can see in the shot) that no amount of diffuse work will fix. Anyway, looks great otherwise man. Next time force on AA in your video drivers, i probably wont catch it then!
@Neox, I've really enjoyed looking at your progress on Storm. It's a way cool rendition, and that hair turned out fantastic. The amount of detail you put into everything is freakin' wild. Awesome job. My paintings are several magnitudes of order below the quality of Jackwhat's, but you don't get better by not practicing.…
That's not a good sign, you shouldn't need a sheet to explain the function of something as simple as a mailbox. Also IMHO amount of detail depicts scale to a certain extent. I would've never guessed it was a mailbox cause it looked like a huge container or even a building of some sort. Stuff the size of a mailbox don't…
