I like his stuff he shows good implementation of composition and his anatomy is pretty good. But I don't see too much that applies to this industry. If he's planning on going for a 2D job, he'll need to work in a wider range. Right now he has a very "coloring book" approach and he needs to push his use of color and light a…
I looked at that thread but most of the info seemed to be about advanced techniques that were a little over my head. Ben's tutorial saved the day though! It's funny how some of the simplest noob questions are the hardest ones to find answers for. I watched 3 or 4 tutorials on render-to-texture and none of them mentioned…
I don't use Booleans on a daily basis by any means, but I remember a little while ago, seeing a series of tutorials on ProBooleans and thinking to myself "why would anyone ever use regular booleans again?" I think they were introduced along-side SP1 of Max8 or are part of a download on Autodesk.com. They seemed to work…
you need to create your own shading tree and don't use the premade phongshading by unreal, here is an old tutorial i made for recreating the team fortress look, it might have some mistakes in it, but basicly you can use the same techniques to change your shading style as well…
Indian boy, here. Do this tutorial, over and over again, until your eyes bleed skulls: http://www.zbrush.info/docs/index.php/Tutorial:_Sculpting_A_Skull Once it looks absolutely perfect (and you need to be harsh to yourself, in judging this) import your altiar head in as a subtool. Then, having leaned the skeletal…
A good idea is to create your base mesh with even lower polycounts and then add cuts for detail with quickslice or by chamfering some edge loops. Right now you have a lot of unsued loops in the legs and arms, as OzMa said. Also, take a look at Ben Mathis' site, http://www.poopinmymouth.com/tutorial/tutorial.htm , he's got…
Funny you ask this I just recently ran into the same problem. I've come up with a pretty decent solution that is actually quite fast (it only took me about 5-10 minutes for the cloth in the tutorial). It makes use of some tools that might only be available with Modo, but I think the basic idea of it can be applied in just…
Hi everyone! I'm a beginner in 3D modeling and I'm really enjoying what I'm learning so far. I also want to try and learn different approaches on how to create things, and I wonder if anyone could help and direct me to tutorials/resourses/courses/etc on game assets modeling. So far I've been following Blender tutorials on…
Hey Folks... I'm a UI artist in the game industry. I've been really interested creating medal icons in 3D for some time. I've used a couple of techniques trying to achieve this, but in the end it's really arduous and time consuming to do. In a production environment, I usually time out have to hand render them all. Daniel…
Hi everyone! I just watched a tutorial about trim sheets and tried to create one but it's seeming. My pipeline; - Sculpt high poly in zbrush via wrap mode. - Bake it to a plane in substance painter. ( Plane coordinates 0,0,0) Under tutorial comments I saw it but don't understand what's meaning " I used wrap mode to get the…
