I dont think he needs to find a new project, actually. But just stray away from doing a 1:1 copy. Its a relatively generic environment, in that he can mix stuff up or place stuff differently, or new camera angle or light setting etc, and it will look like something else.
If you're having trouble getting the scaled version to line up perfectly you can always duplicate your unscaled UVs to channel 2, and scale them in channel 2, then bake your maps from channel 1 UVs to channel 2 UVs and then copy your new UVs back to channel 1.
Chunkey: Maybe you could just leave it in Biped mode, make a keyframe on frame 1 where the legs and arms are all bent and rotated outwards (to their maximum realistic limits), then just use the default shortcut keys of < and > to jump from frame 0 (default pose) to frame 1 (test pose) ... would that work?
