Hello my fellow Artists :) I opened this threat to show one of my lighting tests for stylized environments in Unity 5.5. My plan is to create a scene with mostly handpainted assets made 3D and 2.5D like in the new version of Summoner's Rift from LoL or in Diablo 3 (TopDown-View). I'm just at the beginning and decided to…
Going to try and post here often with things I'm working on. Below is a sort of timeline of some of my models going back to when I started in 2014ish. I work full-time in a non-art related field but have always loved game art and possibly working as a freelance artist on the side when my skills get there. Critique is…
Hi everybody,I'm newcomer in this forum I always follow your posts and I'm very happy to share new information with you. My name is Andrea, I work in Video-games industry as 2d concept artist and traditional animator. and now I decided to come into 3d world.I would like to take the chance to ask you for some advices: this…
Hi guys! I hope someone can help me with this. What is the best way to UV-map this model? It is a low poly model of a dolphin-like creature and needs to be unwrapped in a way that makes it easy to handpaint the textures. I am at the end of my project and need to unwrap my models before I leave, and then other designers…
Thank you guys all for the great advice! Some really awesome pointers here. I'm a little wary of paid training courses as I feel I've learned more since leaving university than I was ever taught in the four years I spent in actual paid education - but that's a rant for another day. I will definitely give it some thought.…
My team and I managed to finish all our stuff up for our entry into this year's BFX competition! We are pitching an idea for an advert for charity Anthony Nolan involving puppets and vampires! Some miscellaneous stuff for another pitch where our idea fell through: A matte painting for my graduation film - mixture of…
The trains material definition is really bad and could be improved a lot. I get that it's an old train but try adding some specularity to the windows, paint and/or bare metal. I'd also try to make the train a bit more interesting with some panels and such as there are way too many flat areas with nothing going on. The best…
Woooo! Back at this! I'll be helping out with The Foundry booth at Siggraph in 2 weeks, and I want to get this finished in time to get up on my site by then. If it turns out well, it could be even used for some demo purposes at the convention which would be sweet so I'm getting some time to work on it during my internship.…
I wonder if having an enforced title template would help a bit. One thing that killed me from the 3D forums is the amount of freaking random title " enchanted magical journey" you open it and it's an 2d army guy it's just annoying and happen so often .. Maybe something like…
Little Red : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/J2Vaa I designed this character almost a year ago for a university project. Since then, I've had time to refine my skills and become more adept in 3D. I felt the design had a lot of personality, and I wanted to have another crack at it to see how far I could take it nowadays.…
