I am so overwhelmed with where to start learning Houdini. I want to start learning this to incorporate into my skillset and add another tool that I can use in the studio I work for. Roughly how long until I can start using this in a professional setting? Can anyone recommend a good starting point to help ease my mind?…
Until we get Bridge and SUITE to talk, the best way is to open DDO (no need to load a project), click the DDO menu, add a custom material, and load up any Megascan you prefer. :)
I like it a lot Dragan but it's too dark. Bioshock is dark so, yes it does match the look of the game, but you're losing a lot of the work you did to some deep shadows in there. A few of the textures are a bit washed out as well. Modeling wise I think you did a great job setting up the scene and even though you did make it…
Wow! A lot of updates since I last checked the thread. Good work guys! @inwar - I like your colors a lot, seriously.. how did you manage to get that close?! @Xerafel - Thanks! I like the 'Clean' look of your scene, good job! @keosar - Thank you :) Nice update, it is coming together now! How did you do the jackets?…
Thank you! I wanted to add a bit of shading on the albedo but I didn't want it to to overpower the main lighting. The subtle shading also makes it look less flat in shadowed areas in game.
Hi, this is a good start! If you want to achieve realism I would highly recommend finding real life references that are interesting to you and trying to recreate them as closely as possible. In your image the door, wall, and floor are clearly just using one tiling material, and are lacking in detail. Where is the trim on…
Hi I've been following Petter Zoppi's real-time eye course for games, which can be found on Gumroad. I think the tutorial is a bit old now, and I believe he was using Marmoset 2 or 3. When adding Transparency, he did it by selecting 'Add', which is no longer an option in 4. I followed another tutorial on how to get…
Another render of an outfit I did for Landmark! Did some detail normals on this outfit and the last one just to add extra detail. Rest of the images on my artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/2WvDa
Oooh yeah ! So solid, and so fitting :) Regarding the bird animations : while there is no way to add extra bones for such needs, there *might* be some clever tricks you can use in order to add at least some hint of secondary motion. To do so you could try to weight the vertices of elements like the beak and wings very…
hi 1. for a low poly asset like this shield you should hit on textures something like 128/128 and it looks like mirrored so you could probably downsize this in half. 1024x1024 way to much. Modeling, this simple model could be made of 8 faces + a few to add thicness and back. You did not showed back, this could be made to.…
