Also, the modifier stack in your first screenshot is a mess. This is a really bad way to work, since any changes below the top modifier will often cause bad results. Many modifiers are dependent on the vertex order staying the same. If you change it, you're going to get all sorts of bad things. It's best to work as "flat"… -

Thanks for your input guys. I was under the impression 2017 introduced lots of annoying bugs that SPs never fixed/made worse, thus my desire not to upgrade. It's too bad there's not any file I can delete or something to magically make things faster, but I guess that's to be expected. -

Really old thread so I'm sure most of you all know it now - but I use Giphy on my desktop for capturing stuff almost daily to share with colleagues (we work online via Slack) and it's super fast and convenient for capturing gifs (even from d3d/ogl viewports) (sorry to be off topic too) -

Yeah, sounds like a common lament. Actually now I find I don't have to swap the channels... I can just tell the DeepUV exchange plugin to use another UV channel. That's cool. Too bad it seems DeepUV is pretty unstable, crashed once on me today, and others have said it crashes often. -

Just to add, there is no ahead or behind.....there is no catching up, or ahead of the curve, there is only good and bad. Given that you can work in this field until your 60s i imagine, it really doesent matter when you start. The advice on doing props and single hero pieces is solid too
