Hello, I created a little underwater scene in the unreal engine to learn the tools and workflows of the engine. I created two different images with different mood and story. I'd like to ask your opinion which one is the better and why? Furthermore, I'd like to ask for critique and comments about the whole work…
Oh hey! I used to work in game dev for many years, and it was great as a career, loved the creativity and the lively team environment. But yeah there are a ton of opps in many other industries for 3D skills, and plenty of creativity & skilled teams to work with. Michael Tanzillo from Adobe has been doing this whole…
Simple automation tools are easily done by chat GPT. Blender is where it shines actually. What I'd love to see is a kind of deeper Blender customization. A 2d vector editor mode with editable spline brushes driven by grease pensil. The whole "draw" mode is quite inconvenient currently . I want something like "skeletal"…
I am seconding what Fabi_G said. Your character has two right legs and one has 6 toes. This is not a small thing to miss especially when your whole generated concept is a character. That speaks volume of how developed your eye is to spot anatomical inaccuracies. If your goal as you say is to learn and improve : Start with…
For the baking and texturing i use substance painter and am using layering materials (Base, Details, finer details) with triplanar projection (also if i used in masking fill-layers). I just recognized that the screenshot with all materials hasnt been uploaded here before, therefore the confusions: i am sorry, this is my…
It's not a huge impact here, but you could optimize the grass a bit more. Tweak the UV's a bit to get rid of transparent areas to reduce overdraw, and weld the top vertices together to save ONE WHOLE TRIANGLE per blade. Which in your scene amounts to diddly squat, but it's still a 12.5% savings on the grass.
Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to discuss a highly technical topic today. It's about the incredibly realistic animations in the upcoming game ILL. I don’t know how many of you have seen the trailer recently, but the way the creatures look like they have actual fleshy skin and their natural posing really caught my eye.…
Hello guys. I would like to ask if anyone knows the trick to auto close holes in that scenario. I am trying to have this kind of effect on model shown below. But to do that I need to manually bridge holes one after another using Zmodeller and this is possible but time consuming. Is there any way to deal with this kind of…
Your post has been here for a bit and it hasn't got any response. There are things that can assist you. The wiki has everything you need, and a whole lot more: wiki. I put some stuff below that might help. 1/ Anatomy: That is really the first thing with figures. A good practice is to start your model naked so you can…
I love this. The execution is really strong, and the prop work and modeling are great. Overall, good job.I freaking love Lisbon and Portugal, and I’ve wandered these streets a lot, so you really captured the vibe. One thing that can elevate good work to fantastic work here is values and tonemapping. Let me visualize what I…
