no, thats not an option in this case. i absolutely need to have the same vertex order. i have an external program which relies on vertex order to paint "damages". and changing the vertex order means repainting it again.
In marmoset you have to set the material to use vertex color, it's not activated by default. Go to your material and in albedo select vertex color on the roulout on the right. You could then activate vertex color with the check box.
I'm trying to do lighting with vertex lighting.. but its not illuminating anything in my scene when I render, is this another only engine thing? Any tutorials someone can link me? I've been searching but can only find vertex shading not vertex lighting. Thanks.
Hey guys, I was contemplating on trying to build a terrain shader solution in UE4 which is based on texture based splat data and not a vertex colored based one. So my question, can you paint to texture in UE4(not paint to vertex)? Thanks!
-Assign a standard material, with your texture in diffuse. "Show standard map in viewport" on -In the object properties, check vertex channel display (vertex color). You can do this in the vertex paint modifier too, top left cube "vertex color display" Should work. The mix thing is for rendering purpose i guess.
Try going to the Lists tab and expand Other Maps, then delete any vertex normal maps. Sometimes when you mirror geo with vertex normals, it does really strange things that requires deleting or resetting vertex normals. Alternatively, if you're the one who made the vertex normals and you want to keep the ones that are on…
Ok, so here's my question: how to use vertex painting when also using LODs? More specifically, since LODs reduce the number of vertices on the mesh, it also changes the appearance of vertex painted mesh once LODs switch, because its geometry does not stay the same. And the result is VERY noticeable LOD pop-ins. I was…
Hi polycounters :) http://www.renderheads.com/portfolio/VertexChameleon/ That's where you'll see videos and be able to download the beta of this new vertex colour plugin I've been making for Maya. The idea with this tool is to make much more powerful vertex colour tools than what Maya currently has. We made these tools…
Hi there, I was wondering if there's a way to create or put a new vertex on existing geometry? I see that "create face" under Editable Poly's "polygon selection" creates a vertex in a random and unpredicitble place and it isn't working as 3D Coat's brush. The vertices there are "floating" on the mesh - any ideas how to…
We're experimenting with GFX in Unity and there's a particular effect that could be achieved using a Mesh Emitter on Systematic mode, where particles spawn on a mesh's vertexes at random - or, on Systematic mode - following what I believe to be the order of the vertex indexes. My question is, is there any way I can easily…
