The game is sort of fun. I find it annoying how you can really see the zombies it be nice if there was a bit more contrast there. They just blend into the background. The iron thing, well the arm swings are way too slow, I think you should just make it so it feels like you were playing the legend of Zelda 1 for example.…
Hi everyone! I’m working on a material I created in Substance Designer, and I’m running into a visible tiling issue once I bring it into Unreal Engine 5.6. I’ve attached screenshots showing how it looks in the scene. The tiling (2x2) appears especially clearly horizontally. I’ve tried making small adjustments in Substance…
It's absolutely not necessary to go buy a giant workstation to make 3d models and hasn't been since about 2008. You can probably do the work you need to do on that machine quite comfortably - I used a worse one when I was working on first party PS4 titles. You may want more ram for zbrush but in general I'd suggest not…
That's right, tweaking the blend mode of a blend node is only possible inside Designer, once your substance is cooked it becomes frozen to the current value. The same applies for some specific parameters, such as the crop areas of the blend node. You current "workaround" is actually the only solution here.
Be realistic. Open World games of even AA grade are enormous effort, and costly. And to be honest. You have bigger chance to create open world game as indie dev than by working in AAA studio. As AAA studio won't take the risks to make AAA quality open world game. Yes indie open world game won't have awesome graphics, tons…
This project changed a lot, don't know if I should post a new thread. Anyways my plan was to make boat model and finish it. And then maybe use it in some game. (I need something finished to portfolio). But before I finished model I started coding also. My initial plan was some kind of RTS/RGB hybrid. But I made boat too…
As an experienced Flash programmer, I can say for certain that I don't have any interest in using Javascript to code web applications. I have never liked Javascript. If I can use a more comfortable programming language to code up HTM5 applications, then I will look at using it more regularly. C# would be fine. PHP would be…

40yrs old here. Although, I prefer the term "Retro". There are quite a few people here more retro than myself. Games is a new industry so its to be expected. I'd hazard a guess and say the most retro people will generally be coders as that's where games started before artists got involved. You'll probably get older…
@ Frump- I am glad you replied. Thank you for the feed back, it is valuable. No, I am not in high school, though I do look the part. I am a 35 year old senior BA fine arts who touched a computer for the first time 3 years ago. I am not trying to be a character modeler, and I hope not a prop modeler (Though I did want to…
