The mesh looks really nice, but I still think 1000 polys is overkill for weaponmodels, even with todays fast computers. That computing power could be much better spend on other stuff. Oh and I really don't like that red on your concept pic... dunno but for me even fantasy weapons should look like 'realistic' weapons.
I have finally decided what I am going to be working on. A fantasy style barbarian character. I already started working on the character front and side pose. I think I am semi-happy with the design, it just seems like a something is missing, or maybe a lot of things. I guess i'll look back on it later.
Its settled! Fantasy Exterior it is. I know I havn't been as active as I wanted to be, but that has been mostly due to being swamped at work, including weekends. Things should settle back down to normal in a bit, but Ill start a new thread with some REALLY basic pictures, so we can get this puppy rolling!
I love twitter. I tweet fairly often about 3D, life, things that piss me off...pretty much anything. Sports. Fantasy Football. I'm pretty active so it's one of the best ways to get in touch with me. I just added a number of you guys, thanks for putting up your info! @Rurouni_Strife
Haha, if you want more "serious" horror/speculative fiction stuff, check out that Shock Totem link (that antho even has some lovecraft-inspired stuff in it). Armpit of Evil is more of a spoof on the fantasy genre. But it was fun to write, that's for sure...and for 2 bucks what have you got to lose? Your writing is pretty…
Hey folks, I started a new project based on Baldi Konijn's concept https://www.artstation.com/artwork/eOYX I'm planning to make it handpainted pbr. I picked this concept because of course, I like it's style, but I also like how sci fi and fantasy blend together with these aliens. I am currently working on the blockout.
I understand that you are not doing an exact copy of your ref but i think you should use other refs for buildings especially. Working off memory and imagination isnt bad in any way, but i feel that the buildings dont have any real life correlation and look very fantasy like, just my 2 cents...
What awesome work! 1 is too flat and uninteresting 2. has a very fantasy vibe and is visually very interesting with the reds in the sky 3. Feels ice-cold, desolated, like a quiet night before the storm and has a kinda sad (?) vibe to it. Personally, I feel that lighting number 3 fits the best to the scene! But maybe that's…
Wow Freemouse, I love this, I agree with Purplekami that it's spot on! As I remember the character concepts for Final Fantasy IX were drawn the same way but the colors in game are saturated and pleasing to the eye, just like your piece. I'm still trying to find your concept image's source, do you remember where you found…
My first name's Bianca, seems like a popular weapon name in fantasy games, came across that more then once by now. It's funny then a character talks to is weapon like "let's kill him, Bianca!"... that made me laugh hard! (One of the Dragon Age characters weapon is named "Bianca") But I haven't found a look alike by now!
