I would still consider it hand painted. The wood looks pretty saturated though. I would try and stay away from having the cracks go into the pure black colors as well. Be careful with adding noise on metal parts. The noise is making the metal bands read more like concrete.
Hmm, from the game screenshot, it looks like it's a four-sided system of blades: But if you wanted to just make it two-bladed, I think the middle part as you've sculpted it is too thick. (Oh wait, nevermind, I didn't look at his other hand!)
He's to be a bit more stylized, but I'm using it as a chance to do some anatomy practice in the process (which i guess I'll destroy a bit at the end, but it's good to have a foundation). Working on a hand from scratch is a pain :)
One of the threads that should live forever. my try! working hard to achieve that stylized style. Wow, the sculpt does a lot of the work! but i\m understanding the workflow better and better. Gradient maps and not even 1% hand painted.
You are catching pretty fast Just wondering why did you pick hand for first anatomical study ? Blue lines can be parallel , in your case just happen to rotate your hand in this position Yes phalanges are golden ration of previews but I challenge you to find metacarpals in living hand , I found that halfs work almost as…
There's nothing special about joining hands specifically, it's all down to how many faces you have on one side versus the other and how you solve it when they don't match. Here's a handy image showing some of the ways you can split geometry to get where you need to be.
Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but it make me think of something. Do games like Torchlight of WoW ever do high poly models for their hand painted stuff for the sake of getting a nice AO to overlay on their textures? It seems like that would be handy. Or is it simply all just awesome painting?
Hello Everyone, I have a bit of a conundrum with the hand topology of my most recent model. I have squared away everything else about this model but this issue is nagging away at me and I want to make sure its not a problem before I rig this character. Basically I took this hand from another model and placed it onto my…
Yeah, I'm going to start addressing that with lighting soon. Thanks. The way I've built the scene so far, I think the interior will be hard to pull off. Not sure yet. I wouldn't mind doing some sort of vehicle to go with it. Got my hands full with the concept as it is at the moment. Thanks for the comments.
