Im intermediate at 3d modeling but self taught so this might sound like a silly question. I see models in the 60,000 polycount range and lower but the texture resolution on them is so sharp and clear. So is it possible to have a model that is 60,000 polys wrapped with a texture that is say 4K?
I moved from milkshape to 3d max and followed an old tutorial on the polycount site. It tells me to weld but I can't find how to weld. So how do you actually weld in 3d max?
I feel your pain. It's also a priority for me as well. - Get a lot better at 3D and get noticed on Polycount :) - Meet more interesting people. - Learn to draw - Get a 3DS :)
