Here is an update on my progress. I selected this brick texture from texture heaven: https://texturehaven.com/tex/?c=bricks&t=red_brick_03 My module set is now mostly complete I applied the brick texture to the station. UV wrapping the brick on the station was tedious. I'm glad it's over!
1st pass on the bricks, needs work but I think its coming along.. the main thing is I've noticed, is that victorian brickwork is layered out differently (big brick little brick.) I may also need to up the contrast.. I will post my brick texture on its own later!
Mossy brick variations, I recommend @josh_lynch 's great Gumroad tutorials on the herringbone bricks, it helped me a lot in adding detail to the bricks :) and @rogelio 's wonderful marmoset presentation scene was used for the lighting I pushed the heightmap more on the last one to show how the moss reacts to the bricks
This is a fence made out of individual bricks and are all attached together. I think if I unwrap them on one UV map, the normal maps and textures will be of lower quality. Should I create one UV with many shells for this fence, and sculpt all the bricks and then bake? Or should I sculpt, unwrap one brick, assign the same…
Just on first blush I would say the brick looks weird because it doesn't look like brick. It looks like poured concrete from a mold, and because the top and bottom have brick sections aligned which is also weird. If you want it to read more as brick you need the grout between bricks to be a different color. Also the brick…
Well, I assume those bricks are fairly small. What I mean is that you can actually make a single texture set (256 or 512 depending on what you are making it for) that is a tiling brick texture, and then place different UVs for each brick. You will have varying bricks and use less texture space, plus have higher texture…
Hello guys, i am on it to make a stone texture out of combined single bricks made in zBrush. After fast sculpting i applied a tileable texture to my brick and polypainted it. But i get these strange artefacts in the middle of the brick: Here is the sculpted one with no texture paint: And here you see the brick with the…
