eight - that armor is really cool, give his face some love though! mgreke - nice turnaround, it would look sweet in 3d g2000 - gnarly creature moof - that modeling looks really clean; i'm diggin that concept too, please work in it some more!
Old Hammerite: Now (partially) in 3D! So yeah. This is still very heavily WIP. I'm going to completely replace the poofy sleeves and trousery bits with stuff that's a lot more complex. I obviously still have a lot of work to do, but whatevs, mang. It's coming together.
Hey :) Yeah it's UDK. Simple setup, exported from 3ds Max, some stuff don't have a spec map and it doesn't have a proper lightmap UV-atlas generated either. Yeah you're probably right, I'll dial down the wear a bit, thanks!
i've made a little progress in blocking out a 3d version of my floating baby thingy - might be a while till i get to do any more on it though, taking a 4 day break soon so there might be a few cobwebs by the time i get back to it...
Started cracking at 3d again, it only took 8 years to find a program that clicked with me...blender >_>. I haven't textured anything intensively since 2003-2005. Hooray for old-school techniques/ diffuse only. Cracking away at my first (soon to be) complete character
I took a break from 3d the other weekend and made a Photoshop collage from a whole bunch of old sketches. I bumped up the contrast and made a few transitions work better. Overall, a fun little experiment, and I'm happy with the results: a pimped out tablet!
Messing about with a pencil sketch led a to 3d doodle of it. Teased about with the mesh to see if i could make a few variations quickly, in case i ever need to make filler weapons/gear later on type deal. Centre in the original, moved in seperate symmertry directions.
Hi, I'm French CGStudent (ArtFX) and it's my first post here. In order to practice 3D modeling (in Maya) I choose to model one of the District 9 movie gun. First I start with a bloking based on picture from Weta Workshop Book The Art Of District 9
here's some things i've been busting out in the last week or two. An old oil lantern for my 3D class my best figure drawing thus far, from some life drawing and a master copy, done in oils, of a piece done by John Singer Sargent
Cross posting from the 3D Motive thread ... finished up the new foliage tutorial and the results aren't bad! I learned a ton, I think I need a nap now... And a low res movie of everything in motion: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/161473/Polycount/Misc/Foliage_Tutorial.wmv
