I'm currently casually taking part in a competition over at cgtalk. The challange is to take an known character or type of character and to reverse/change it. So for example cheerful darth vader, Mrs Mumra, medievil master chief or a futuristic medievil knight. I'm going with a modern cyborg take on a 17th Century Plague…
Hi Folks, I guess I'm an industry vet as I've been in the games biz for around 20 years. I started out doing pixel art for 8 bit platformers such as Robocod and Rolo to the rescue. My first 3D work was character modelling for a PS1 game called MediEvil after which I specialised as a character/concept artist. Over the years…
Medievale Horror Game Hi everybody, I am looking for a small team to create a great Horror game. I am currently working with a team of 5 people and we are looking for more people to move the project forward. The style of the game is very similar to Dark Soul 3 and Bloodburn. And the Gameplay will be very simple. First…
I am working off a different reference image at home but the principal is the same here. I cant for the life of me figure out how to combine multiple sized bricks similar to this image http://www.lughertexture.com/images/textures/details/bricks_1/stone_bricks_6/medieval_old_wall_18_20120516_1948027204.jpg I tried using a…
I think maybe it would help if you gave a little more information to work with. Maybe kind of outline what purpose this guy serves in his world/story, what genre you're going for, what kind of fidelity/style (Dark Souls? MediEvil PS4)? Did you design this concept yourself? Is there a reason why he's got the squat? Is it…
First of all. the model looks awesome and the textures are very well done. The composition of the scene however has some serious issues that are killing the modeling and texturing work. This image, for instance, is doing a much better job at showcasing the model than the one with the environment. It is at a weird angle and…
I just found this model viewer, it uses .obj for the mesh and .jpg for the texture. Simple stuff like this where you can export with little hassle is cool. Download is equal in size to a static screenshot of the model.…
hey thank you for your critique :) the medievel boots didnt have an actual sole like todays vulcanized rubber, but more likely a fat leather piece attached with stichies, wich fits the palm of the feet on every step, the inner surface of the boots are hollow let me show you with a paintover.
You brought up a lot of points I didn't think about, I've been hearing a lot about the feet and I'm going to give a seam across the side very loosely looking like this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XDOsgBhCbuA/TOLijVug3MI/AAAAAAAAAMA/xXvkvfZ3Dy4/s1600/medieval_shoes.jpg I'll also add a little bit of mass to the armor. I know…
It's a simple chair similar to chairs in medievil type games like in skyrim and such. So it'll be all wooden and worn out. So yeah I was thinking Maya could handle the base for that and dump it into ZBrush for all the details in the wood and stuff.
