Yeah, that. Eg. If I wanted to sample height at specific locations from a landscape and use that information for something. I don't appear to be able to query the scene for anything useful directly from an editor blueprint but I refuse to accept that there's not some way of doing it Any ideas?
I need to list the name of Attribute Editor tabs under an object so I can grab it and use that name in my script. I cant just set the name because there could be nodes before/after this part with the same name but a different number at the end. What should I do?
Here's the script code for + and - hotkey as subdivision levels. Just remembered the + and - control the manipulator size so you would have to map it to different keys. Anywho heres the code for the + hotkey string $sel[] =`ls -sl`; for ($thisObj in $sel){ int $displaylevel[] = `displaySmoothness -query -polygonObject…
Thanks for the clarification, I'll keep an eye out for future updates. Cheers. Edit Half the time I confuse myself, let alone others asking obviously non-sensical questions, after the fact :# anyway alll good more than cleared up my 'so called' query.
If you click on the Binoculars icon in Spy++, it brings up a window that allows you to drag a target to the window you want to query info from. I just checked in Photoshop, and that toolbar and the main canvas have the same class name. That's a very good clue... I should be able to fix this.

The only other suggestion I can make is to search the V-Ray forum, and post a query there. I know you said before you don't have an account there, but for me that came for free when I purchased it. That forum is the best resource, since the V-Ray developers actually reply.
Its sort of just a 3d model for practice, I suppose its static non functional without much thought about what sort of game it would be for and what that would demand. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to model to some degree as though it were for a game, at least just in the modelling. Anyway I think I have all my queries and…
In max if you select one edge on the top of a cylinder and click loop it doesn't select beyond that original edge you selected. I usually get round this by selecting the top cylinder poly, holding shift and clicking edge sub-object mode but i'm just curious as to why this doesn't seem to work, it seems so simple. Is it…
