I have the Richard Smith char modelling video. Pretty straightforward. He doesn't show how to model the head of his character but for clothes, sculpting folds, using subtools, using Maya NEX plugin...it's alright. Also have most of eat3d vids, except for the character and zbrush ones...just didn't feel they'd benefit me at… -

I like both. Mudbox`s tools (or brushes in Zbrush - tool is the name of the mesh in Zbrush for some strange reason) feel more natural. Especially the flatten brush is great, in Zbrush it never gives me the result I expect/maybe I should play with the settings/. But that`s it really for me at least. Zbrush can handle… -

To quote a lecturer at GDC : 'Carmack is a false god'. The quality comes from the artists, not the fancy tech. So yeah I don't think we should hope too much for crazy realtime folds and such (if it was true, IRL sculptors would just throw a plastered towel on their sculpts and call it done). Dug a lot deeper than surface anatomy. If I'm gonna learn everything, might was well start with certain parts of the skeleton. The model isn't perfect, but that's why I make lots of different ones! To learn! Three hour sculpt. Plenty of it needs work, and the mandible is non-existent but hey! Getting there! -

Throwing down some texture work on these pieces and an update of the sculpt. I had to go through some revisions on the helm to make it fit within the LOD1 while staying as true to the concept as possible. Also playing around with the Emissive map on Necro which seems pretty strong, will have to be careful with this one. -

Alien Concept
This is an alien I sculpted last year just after Venom Games closed down. Finally getting around to rounding these straglers up for presentation. Kinda liked how this one turned out.
