Re: Displacement maps and UDK
If you have access to Maya 2013-Ext then you can use Vector Displacement maps there. It is pretty easy to make them in Mudbox and load them in the Maya DX11 Uber Shader. In Mudbox you have an option to bake them in the map baking tools. Just make sure you pick "Absolute Tangent" if you want to use the map in Maya. -

It looks like you will also have to change the Indirect Normal Influence Boost setting from 0.3 to 0 in order to reduce the lighting seams between sides as well. Hi Everyone, I haven't used any of the recent versions of 3dsmax- Is there currently a way to view normal maps synced to the scanline renderer in max 2013 or 2014? I have a handplane user wanting to see his normal maps correctly in the max viewport and I'm not sure if the 3point shader will work or if the qualified normals…
