Hi everyone, I have been working on my first environment that's set in a wide open space. My usual environments tend to be closed in in design so as to allow me to finish an environment in a shorter time, so have decided to take the leap into building a scene with a large background in shot. Here is where I am up to at the…
Hey Everyone! Here is my participation to the last ArtStation challenge! Posting it here hoping to get some comments and critics ^^ I ran out of time regarding the texturing, especially on the PBR/Metal part of it. It was only my second time trying that style out and I'm not too good at it, so I will most certainly get…
Couple landscapes designs. Trying to improv matepainting and pushing myself further and further. P.S i wasn't think about Avatar but some how i ended up doing something similiar :) https://www.artstation.com/artwork/o1gl4
Hey! Thanks for your response, and I appreciate your input a lot! In reference to your last point, I'm using this story from a third-person perspective. While I do want to use internal monologue between Varus & the ancient power, it's not straying into his character perspective.

If this sacrifice stone is used well, it should show some traces of blood and maybe you want to carve some blood channels into the stone and place some drip cups at the end of the channels to collect the blood,... Just google around for ancient sarcrifice stones and develop your own thing.
Great work Sampson! For the modelers block try some cartoons or movies, go out to some museums if you have any around, read a book, play some games, look up ancient relics. As everyone before me has said keep up the good work.
Stay in school. Its ONE more year, ONE. That way you leave with a bit of paper saying 'Qualified at finishing'. It doesn't matter what a degree is in, it's the getting one that impresses. I hasten to add, getting a degree in ancient languages won't get you a career as a surgeon. Etc.
thanks guys, I might redo the face, it doesn't look dwarfy enough (since the piller has a bit of a dwarvish look to it I'm going with the idea that it is ancient, dwarven ruins) I'll probably spend another day on the rock and then I'm done with it, I need to move on to the wood and the bell.
Even though Video Post is so ancient and badly designed, it still has the best post process filters for rendering. Look up Lens Effects Glow Filter. If Video Post is too weird/daunting, you can use the Glow effect in the Effects part of the Environment panel.
