I haven't posted here in years, but when I heard I wanted to post my experience with Kevin. Back some, 13 years ago. Polycount had a 24/7 Google Hangout shared between some members of the community here. Everyone there was so wonderful, and kevin was apart of that. I remember he spent a few hours with me teaching me his…
I'm not a user interface designer, but did once have an interest in going that route and did research into it, so I'll give my 2c. On the programming side: You'll probably want to start out by learning how to create animated HTML5 webpages, as it's become somewhat common to use web languages for games user interfaces these…
Metal is actually pretty easy to do with PBR. Since metals generally reflect almost 100% of light that hits them, you simply need to make your specular color the final color of reflections you'd like to see. For example, you'd want a light pinkish color for clean copper, or a bright desaturated yellow for most types of…
Hello to my fellow polycounters! I’ve been working on a character in the evenings after my day-job, in hopes of pushing my portfolio forwards. In the past I’ve either had a fairly generalist portfolio, or the chosen designs were not visually strong. I’ve reflected a lot lately, and decided to push forwards with a stylized…
good to see you are trying something like this, it isn't easy to get muscles to look right and requires a lot of practice/research and again practice. try not to focus on all those individual muscles just yet but try to get the overall blocks of form to read right. i did a quick overpaint for you, hope it helps
nice read definitely yes on shaderFX I found the best way to get in to it was to just practice and practice, after a while I got a feel for what operations were needed. I can't do the crazy, math orientated tech artist stuff but I like to think I can hold my own with it.
First, about creating the upper eyelid crease, I agree it's a pain and I don't know how to do it in zbrush. I'd probably try to create two different objects (tools?) for the tarsal plates part of the eyelids and only combine them with the rest of the face later when the fat pads and eyebrows are 100% done, so they don't…
Latest update ==== Hey :) It's been a while since the last time I did something just for myself, for fun and practice, so here we go. I'm not sure how much time I spent on this one but it's been definitely a while since I started it :) My personal goal : - Create a deadly sexy female fantasy character. - Practice modeling…

I haven't posted much on the forum, so hello all who visit! I've been practicing painted textures on my own for a bit now, and I thought I could finally post and get some feedback! Currently working on a kinda shitty designed shield, but I wanted to show off my textures more. (ignore the sides, the wood is what I've been…
