Don't worry, you're portfolio isn't up to snuff yet but you can get there in a year if you really put your nose to the grindstone. I started when I was 27, you're not too old. April 2016 you'll have a job or I'll find you and kick your butt, how's that for motivation?

It's been 24hrs since I had any sleep. I think I've found replacement for fossil fuel....Adin, man he doesn't stop! He's like 24/7 running/jumping/spinning. I'm 27, I don't think I'm that old, but he makes me feel like I'm 50, i cant even hope to keep up with this kid. -R
Day 27 I have to start paying more attention to proportions. I didn´t share Friday's practice, so I´m sharing it now and I´m seeing a lot of things to improve. The head needs to be wider, the jaw is too long and I exaggerated the flatness of her face (the mouth should be further out)
Uhhh... It's a Rockstar game... Won't it be rated "M" anyways? Do they not understand that the average game player is around 27 years old? And that if retailers followed the ratings code, this game could not be sold to a minor anyway? Shoot, why don't they just shut down the entire internet? I mean after all, there is a…
44 - 45 in september. tbh my games career fizzled out a few years ago, but I am still improving and trying hard to get somewhere. I started looking for games work when I was about 27 and was told then I was too old:) some companies are a bit age prejudice, but most don't seem to be.
hmmmm.... sorry to be the one to tell you this, but I honestly think you should take a step back from 3dsmax, and study traditional art for a while, and then come back to 3d in a few years. here's a link from another forum that may help you out. http://www.eatpoo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27
I'm 27 (same as the example in the other linked thread) and honestly being too old hasn't taken up much thought. I consider this question of being too old as just another way for me to talk myself out of improving. It could too easily become an excuse for me so I try not to consider it.
QFT! I'm 27 and still game industry jobless. as far as the sculpt.... i would say everything feels really ultra defined and cut into, which is cool to guide you along the way, but the forms still feel very skinny and flat. Don't worry about every muscle. Focus more on the shape and only certain muscles.
@Stevston, i dont think he needs to make such slopes on this mesh, as the mesh itself is sloped compared to the indets, so the rays will have a slight angle to them. As for the floating mesh, how about "just" making it a part of the sword itself? I'm rather impressed that you did that highpoly in 27 minutes, well done :o
