hello i was watching a maya 2013 tutorial then i came up with this problem: when i select a vertex from Right View the vertex's behind it doesnt get selected so i wanted to ask how to make it like that? i know its a ridiculous question but its bothering for me for not being able to do like that. thx and sry.

I'm learning the basics of 3dsmax poly modeling. I want to apply the soft selection falloff only for x , so if i selected a vert in the middle of sg, the falloff would only apply to the vertices on the left and teh right. Hope you can understend what i mean... I'm not sure if its possible.

I know I have done something I shouldn't messed with and now I am stuck. The selected faces are barely visible which is extremely annoying. How do I change it back to the original orange/brown maya face selection color without resetting maya? And how do I change the wireframe color to maya's default green ?
I'm not a Maya user, but generally in other apps back-face culling just prevents the back-faces from being seen, which is why its normally found in the display options. If you're looking for something related to selections, enabling backface culling may only be a small piece of the puzzle. From other threads I see the…
