[blender] I am making a hard surface hp model and I want to intersect/emboss.
its somesort of eletrical cabinet box. currently Im working with a sub suf modifer, I assume I must apply the sub surf then join the 2 meshes together. can someone explain how to intersect the two objects in a way which wont make lots of ugly vertices etc? (I've done lots of intersecting before but I'd thought I'd ask here… -

Yeah so there are basically a few different methods right: 1. Use averaged normals on your entire mesh, no hard edges or custom edited normals. Using a cage or not has no bearing on your baked result(unless you manually edit your cage, which works differently per app, hand editing the cage/envelope in Maya for instance… -

I would wait for the 900 series cards to come out, they will be relatively affordable compared to the past pricing of the higher end cards (the 980 should be $450 I think? I paid that amount for my 770 4gb almost exactly a year ago, and its nearly 25% faster). That or get a 770 4gb when the new series comes out, should be… -
Tired of my ATI card. Need recommendations for an Nvidia card.
I'm tired of my ATI card not supporting anything and it's time to get a new card. Basically, the card I want needs to do everything. I need a card that will support Maya, Zbrush, UDK, etc, and handle current game titles on high, all of these... without problems. -

Eh the spec might be throwing off the diffuse a little. Still trying to get the hand of marmoset. I modeled them after my own hands, and made them so they would be easily rigged.
