Absolutely awesome work, the cloth and diffuse pass on the Knight dude is soooo good. My only crit... and it's a dumb one... is that the woman with the katana looks a little... ugly.
Cool - this is starting to take shape now. Definately liking the look of the diffuse texture at the minute and it'll be really interesting to see what you do with the specular etc.
Love it! One thing, make the metal showing much darker in the diffuse and brighter in the spec, and tone down the the brightness of the painted areas while upping its contrast.
Yeah ... this is not "old-school". These are the foundations every solid artist in our industry should know. Also, a ton of games still rely on hand-painted, stylish diffuse.
i would do a nice early spec pass to differentiate the matrials befor getting stuck into the diffuse... and make the dirt less consistant... as said looking tasty
