Seriously man, hang in there. It's tough out there right now, but stick with it. I got laid off in January of 09, and with all the local studios I figured it wouldn't take long to get a new job at all. Boy was I wrong. About two weeks after I got laid off almost every local studio either had massive layoffs or closed shop.… -

you're currently set to Local transform. Up at the top toolbar just underneath preferences/help you'll see something that should say local. change it to world. -

You could try selecting the short edges and scaling them using local action centre. Not certain why it's not working with local scrub centre on just the polygon... -

ITs for a per pixel based engine so obviously local maps and specular. The local stage is what sticks out the most however when its warped. -

Cap the end of the cylinder and set to local cordinate system, max should be fine at calculating a local coordinate system for the resulting face.
