This baffles me to no end. No API, no python, just wtf. I guess being 'indie' some how means you don't need to roll up your sleeves and make/leverage custom tools. That kind of limitation is clearly something thought up by some marketing suit who cares nothing for real production needs.
good job tackling the problem, haven't tried it, but what approach did you take running things through the com interface and controlling photoshop from mayas python interpreter. or writing JS code for Photoshop to run? Also where you able to get past the performance problems with building the selection 1 vert at a time in…
Hey polys, I am looking to create a software related to PBR materials. My goal is to generate the standard PBR maps from a diffuse map within my software. Do you know any good tool/repo that offers an api for such tasks? I found this tool which seems like a good solution. Let me know if you have any alternatives. I plan to…
Hi guys, I've been developing this plug-in for some time now so here are two demos for some particular materials. Procedural brick wall (Youtube) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeQthsW8HCQ Frame buffer material (Youtube) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ9B3AEXfGo This is weird one but I think it could be very useful

I too had hurdles with the triangulation initially, but I solved it by baking it to a quad only mesh first using the "bake from multires" setting. Then I would to a regular, selected to active cageless bake using extrusion set to 0.000001m and stacking the triangulated mesh on the quad-only mesh with the normal-map, and…
Hello, I am learning python with Maya. The problem I have with the following code is that the shader is deselected when objects are selected. If I reverse command order, objects are deselected when shader is selected and thus can’t make shader assignment. I’m sure the code is basic, but all the code I have found thus far…
Got the shingles done, on to a block-out of my idea... I came up with an idea, somewhat based off Monty Python.. since I understand that anything made of stone would presumable sink into the swamp, along with the 2nd and 3rd iterations...
