Looks like the larger rock on the left is suffering from some sort of max height issue or just a really uniform heightmap feature on that part. I'd vary the height and use the scrape brush ( I think that is what it is called ) to cut into the fine edge you have on that rock to match the other rocks. Could probably use the…
Hey everyone, So 2 days ago I decided to push something I've never done , which is making a single environment with multiple biomes. Starting with a Mountain Forest, then into the dry planes, then into a swamp. I might continue and add more biomes once I'm happy with these first 3. But these are already a challenge for me…
Hey everyone! As a huge fan of Star Wars, I am jumping in the train. it is a star wars redesign contest organised by CG+ http://cgplus.com/forum/t/star-wars-reimagined-deadline-extended/296 I'll try to do it as a pushed illustration like if it was for a book cover, a card illustration or a splash art, we'll see. I've been searching around a lot on the Internet and I haven't been able to find any good tutorials or information about low poly trees. I found a few tutorials, but I guess some were pretty old and the trees were really ugly or the tutorials were about high poly trees... I've made this tree during de last days and I think…

This scene is going to be in the forest, maybe the characters ran away from an attack or something , not sure but he left all his stuff there. Assets I am gonna have in…

While anyways I'm still a college student learning the ways of the game artist both 2D/3D. As for now I'm been at 2d work longer than…
Quite genereric title, but here's what I've been working on in the past week or so: It's still quite WIP, I definiately have to work on the backdrop some more, with some nice temple buildings and lush vegetation and there will be more individual props in the foreground. and with a big amount of blur :D : Some texture flats…
Hey Polycount, first time posting here. I am a student in my final year of Game Art and I want to specialize in environment art. The theme for my project is a Philosopher's Academy. I want to get a secluded Utopian vibe across. A sort of overgrown secret Greek garden in a mountainous forest. I can't find much useful…
Your silhouettes and composition are not doing this piece much for setting the mood I think you're trying to get. I'd suggest strongly at some distant mountains/forest or desolate landscape (depending on the vibe) and really work in a sky to set the overall tone. Plus an introduction of a sky will do wonders for your…
