Quite genereric title, but here's what I've been working on in the past week or so:
It's still quite WIP, I definiately have to work on the backdrop some more, with some nice temple buildings and lush vegetation and there will be more individual props in the foreground.
and with a big amount of blur
:
Some texture flats (Texture sizes are still a bit obsessive, but it's harder to scale them up than down in the end

The scene so far is based on this Red Steel concept art:
My plan is to expand the scene with a little bamboo forest + some more corridors and interior stuff.
Thats all I have so far. I'm going to make some highpoly renders soon and post them in here.

@r4ptur3: I'm not quite sure how closely I'm going to follow the concept art, but I think I'm gonna damage the roof some more to let some more nice particle effects in .
All the wood stuff in the scene is a mix between sculpted, photo sourced and handpainted details.
I started off with a simple mudbox sculpt for each piece. Just scraped of the edges and drew some lines with the knive tool.
For the actual texture I used a photo reference as a base and then painted on top of it. The ref has alot of contrast, and I reduced some of its noise.
I painted with various different layer styles and finally came up with this:
So yeah, it comes down to actually just a lot of painting .
The scene is looking nice penE, really like how your wood is showing within the scene, are the blue's coming from the spec or from your lighting?
For the wood floor the blueish reflections come from the lighting, I use the new dx11 image reflections for that, for the rest I use blue specs :poly121:.
nice work!!!! I noticed you are leaning heavily towards the lower end of all your values, so I popped into photoshop to do a quick levels. All I did was crunch everything and bring it back towards black. I'm not sure if this is what you are going for, but I think it makes everything pop
Might be too dark on other monitors as well, have to check that out.
Pavillon looks like this atm:
