Spelling? Yes it is irritating. But hell to know you spelled it wrong and take the time to spell it out that it may be wrong, shakes head. I am guilty as charged in many instances of shortening a word, like attn. or other abbreviations/deviations. I also am completely stupid in some instances and plead ignorance to…
It sounds like your issue is different than the OP's? Are you dealing with inverted UV shells or inverted geometry faces? The OP had flipped UV faces and Joost nailed it, way back in 2015. check the orientation of the UV faces and mirror them if they are facing the wrong way. Easy peasey. If it's a single face within a UV…
My control complaints can really be applied to basically every Wii game though. I love Nintendo and the Wii had some really cool games, but I could never play a game session without having to deal with the Wiimote screwing me in some way (except for games that don't use motion controls.) Maybe it's my setup, maybe not, I'm…
This is patently false. World of Goo's sales didn't increase due to piracy. They increased after the developer reported to the general press how much their game had been pirated. The attention that their story got in the media was what helped them to boost sales. They were able to get free publicity and marketing because…
Look into edge decals and distance field material blending. Right now the meshes have pretty sharp edges and sharp (i.e. no) blending between adjacent surfaces. Maybe look into edge damage or at least chamfer some edges here and there. Also, even though poly counts (!) are not an issue anymore its still a good practice to…
Hey guys, Here is something I have been working on in UDK, I posted last week in the WAYWO thread. I have been working on it for the past 4 or so weekends. Originally I was going to do a very similar scene which I posted here, but in starting it I got distracted / scared and instead went on to do this. It is based on a…
Well, I was looking for a weapon concept to model as a personal project, after a while, I found one I really liked and was actually a 2D painting. Shape-wise I made some changes. Some things I changed cause I thought they made more sense, others like the holes on the side panel seemed a little more complicated and even…
Haha ya know I definitely see it. Yeah I think the architecture is very similar, I need to find out how they did the trim in the corners hitting the crown molding cuz I'm struggling with how to deal with that in mine 😅
Very nice :) this has a solid and clear story beat, and the scene has a
great foundation. As you continue refining it, consider pushing the secondary
storytelling details further. Adding personal items—such as photos, handwritten
notes, or scattered everyday tools—could hint at who lived here and deepen the
narrative.…
