I like the idea of limitations, there have been some pretty amazing artworks from artists who challenged themselves to use limited pallets for example so why not try this in a gameart setting. I do have to agree that there should still be some openness to the theme, because if people feel they are getting too restricted it…
honestly if you can't get a job at mcdonalds or walmart i'd swing for something a bit lower then gameart. its not all about skill, you have to be able to work with people too. so maby getting a normal job first, just to get a feel for what the corporate world is like, wouldn't be a bad idea. plus having money is nice too.
He is using a deviantart provided folio guys, so he cant really do those things. I suggest looking at wordpress or carbonmade for something better if you dont want to make a personal one. Id stay a mile away from the Oh-so-gameart-unfriendly layout of deviantart. x2 on everything Great work and good luck! :-D
While I liked Mr Kite's character more than Rockstar's, the excecution and detail of the latter (aside from also being an extremely cool character) would have made it my top pick as well. Without a doubt the most impressive piece of gameart I've ever seen. But overall an awesome effort from all, it's the best contest we've…

@ Renderasdf, 99% of the time you can fast close lightbox by just clicking outside the img (in the black space) When you open my site you go straight to photography, maybe you should also skip " home" abd let it go to the gameart page when you open the site instead. It looks clean, nice and easy :)
WIP Hi world, this is my Yakuza artwork, which I developed during my participation in the ArtStation challenge "Neo Tokyo: Exponential Reality" in the Film/VFX Character Art category (rendered). This experience was incredibly exciting and allowed me to navigate the entire 3D pipeline, from likeness sculpting, modeling, and…
its gameart. everything will be triangles in engine. generally speaking you want a quadlike structure and if it is just for the sake of the rigging. selecting loops is just generally easier than handling a triangle soup. you can just go on sketchfab or download ripped models from games and analyze them. you will find…
For people asking for tutorials more along gameart this site has loads of good stuff. http://www.gametutor.com/ I've been having fun learning houdini the last year, I've not been using it as much as I want too, partly because it requires a different mindset than traditional modeling. It's cool seeing them improving their…
Hello my name is Chris, and I am a gameart addict. I think what I love about 3d is seeing a character come to life. The tech is moving so fast there is no time to get bored and we are just scratching the surface of what 3d will become. Our grandkids are going to sit around and giggle at the fact that we watched stuff on…
