Any suggestions or tutorials to paint chrome areas on something that's not going to be specifically modeled or shaded for chrome? IE. 2D representation of chrome. And no, I don't mean Photoshop's gradient chrome. I'm talking about how to paint the light shadow to mimic the chrome feel without relying on using photos as…
Hey all! I'm somewhat new to creating textures to my models that I make. I have seen videos on people creating their textures in Photoshop by painting them. I've tried, but mine dont come out as great as I want them to be. Anyone have any tips or tricks on texture Painting?
Here's a paint I did for my girlfriends birthday. I painted her as a pin-up with her dogs and printed it in A1 and framed it for her. There's lots that I could do better on there, but I had to get it done pretty fast and this was the best I managed to achieve in the time frame. Thanks
Hey guys, here are two hand painted textures that I've made. It took four to five hours to paint one of them, they are tiling. I hope you like it. Critiques are welcome :D
I've been working on a 3D model/sculpt of a cat but I feel like it just doesn't look right - like something's missing/off. Is there somewhere/someone I can send it to who can help me? If not there is also projection painting, which both Photoshop and Zbrush can do. With projection painting you basically set up whatever…
Is there a feature or script for paint selecting faces in modern versions of 3DSMAX (like how modo lets you click-drag on a surface to create a selection)? The old "paint selection region" is kind of worthless due to how it projects through surfaces. I used to do this with a script but unfortunately it doesn't work in…

Really try and sell the fact that it has been carved into by someone and it still has sharp…
Illuststudio has a lot more focus on painting. It's closer to sai I guess. paint lab (now rebranded as Paint Studio Pro) is a bit simpler in it's interface and has stronger ties to their community site, where you're supposed to download 3d objects and textures etc. To my knowledge they've halted development on IS, but I'm…
