This is the best article I've found explaining texel density https://80.lv/articles/textel-density-tutorial/ When working in Maya there is a tool that estimates your texel density. Selec your UVs, set px/cm, hit scale and Maya will give you as close to that texel density as it can. It's a good starting point for your UV…
Thanks for the feedback Teddy. I am a bit confused about the Texel Density. Correct me if I am wrong but If I work with 2048k maps should the Texel Density be set at 1024 and if I work with 4096k maps should the Texel Density be set at 2048 for best quality? Thanks.
David I think the part that you are looking for is the Texel Density of the project. For larger objects you will need to set a higher Texel Density for objects to tile better.
Hello guys, How are you? Any of you know an Addon for Blender similar to 3Ds Max script's textools where I can Control the texel density for my models? Thanks!!
Anybody here that could point me to a good texel density tool that works with baby maya? I found several that look awesome but they are all written in py. Much appreciated in advance.
From a technical standpoint, why does PUBG have such low texel density? I just notice that compared to other FPS games like Destiny, PUBG doesn't look that great texture wise. Is it cause the world is huge? But can't you just not render worlds at a certain distances so all your close assets can have same texel density?
I always have trouble with uving with good texel density so how do i map uv of different object with correct texel density without combining them i know when i combine them and unfold the TD will be correct but if i unfold them without combining the TD is bad i want seperate objects to bake normal map
