ddo scratches repeating

hey guys,
I have a little question about the workflow with ddo... i'm trying to add some scratches and dirt to my object and everything works great but i noticed that scratches and other effects are repeating a way to much on my object. Is there any way avoid this?

Which version of ddo? Legacy or the new Suite version?

It's the new quixel suite... the whole scratch and dirt thing works great, mostly on smaller objects or with a lot "different parts" but when using bigger and flat obejcts you can see like in my posted picture how the dirt, scratches etc... are repeating...

The texture size is 4096 by the way

no, they are fine, they are stiched together, so there is just one seam...

While watching the automated detailing process (I guess my computer is slow enough that I can see the layers being applied) it looks like some detail textures are tiled before used, so I'm guessing it's from that. You can always manually edit your textures in photoshop if it's too obvious.

David I think the part that you are looking for is the Texel Density of the project.

For larger objects you will need to set a higher Texel Density for objects to tile better.

So ddo2 tiles the scanned materials across your uv's. As well as changing the texel density when you start a project, you can adjust the scale of materials that use images by clicking on them in the material shelf and moving the scale slider. But ideally you want to break up the repetition by layering various other materials through masks to get some nice surface variation.

Having said that it would be cool if (especially considering very directional materials, like the wood planks) there were some way to offset or rotate the base image.

It worked, it's no longer tiled... at least not so extreamly....

@Bek I just started with ddo2, it's very nice toll but i guess i will take some time to understand in fully... Are they any good tutorials out ? i found just one tutorial on youtube for the new quixel suite...

If you're still looking for stuff you could, in the mean time, look at the videos of legacy ddo as they're similar in many ways. But maybe that would be confusing... so up to you.
