First image: For a highpoly it doesn't really matter. The square around the hole is unecessary but it's not exactly 'wrong'. There's also no need to connect those parts so completely with the rest of the mesh. Look at how n-gons behave when you've got subdivision (turbosmooth) applied. The holder is symmetrical, so delete half of it. Attach the TP to the holder and UV them together into one texture sheet. Then detach the TP and re-mirror the holder, which will automatically mirror your UVs for you. -

If you're in the latest beta, you can remove the default skybox through the Lightmapping Tab and clear the Skybox slot in Environment Lighting. The baking only works because it reflows the solder on chips that have de-soldered due to overheating and cheep solder with iron impurities. Probably wouldn't do much for a board shorted by water damage. Yeah, I backed up to Dropbox. -
