http://www.2dartistmag.com/ Great magazine. Monthly tutorials, painting process breakdowns and free custom brushes. It's basically all photoshop though, so if you don't use photoshop you probably won't get much use out of it. I'd also recommend Dylan Cole and Dusso's Gnomon DVDs as they're excellent -

I love most WW2 era planes. They're so... raw-mechanical (read: not technological) that I love the feel I get when I think about the brute human effort that'd go in to construct them. (This goes with anything from the 30s-50s). EDIT: That's the Super Guppy. What a fat ass. -
